Before you begin
Use headphones at a comfortable level
After this installation has been verified with an Aethera account, you do not need a microphone, sample pack, or Internet connection during the signed offline-access period. Start with the built-in content and save the project somewhere you can find again.
Step 1
Choose Create Living Ambience
From Welcome or Quick Create, select Create Living Ambience. Choose a location such as forest, cavern, tavern, city, ocean, ship, campfire, ruins, laboratory, or magical environment.
Step 2
Describe the conditions
Pick a time of day, weather, crowd density, safety or danger, activity level, and duration. Enable Seamless loop, then choose Living randomized soundscape so occasional events can vary instead of repeating on a fixed short cycle.
Step 3
Generate and listen through more than one event interval
Generate previews and let each run long enough to hear its continuous bed, repeating textures, and several one-shot events. Select the preview whose overall place and activity feel right; do not worry about one event being perfect yet.
Preview scheduling is deterministic. Replaying the same preview should reproduce its event timing, which makes comparisons useful instead of random guesswork.
Step 4
Use one or two plain-language adjustments
Try Reduce Repetition, Emphasize Nature, Emphasize Civilization, Add More Space, or Make It More Intense. Audition the changed version before accepting it. Keep adjustments small until you know which layer needs attention.
Step 5
Open the result in Studio
Open Studio and find the continuous bed, repeating loops, random event pools, and master output. Select an event layer to see its delay, probability, cooldown, density, sample weights, volume, pan, and pitch ranges.
- Lower a distracting layer rather than muting the entire ambience.
- Use no-immediate-repeat for a small pool of recognizable calls.
- Increase the minimum cooldown when one event draws too much attention.
- Keep pitch variation restrained on voices, animals, and identifiable objects.
Step 6
Test the loop boundary
Enable loop audition and listen across the boundary several times. If the bed pulses or clicks, adjust the loop region or crossfade and audition again. Event rules do not need to repeat at the same boundary as the flattened bed.
Step 7
Save, reopen, and export
- Save the editable project with the
.soundwrightextension. - Close and reopen it once to confirm linked media and event rules are present.
- Choose Ambience Loop for an ordinary flattened file.
- Choose Adaptive Aethera Soundscape when you need layers, states, and event rules.
An ordinary export works in other audio and video applications. Publishing to a campaign is separate, optional, and uploads only the output you select.
