Aethera Nexus

At a glance

• Platform: Windows 11 x64, version 24H2 or newer while serviced by Microsoft.
• Account: an Aethera account is required for hosted applications and account data.
• Installer: an assisted Windows installer signed by Aethera.TV.
• Local data: device settings, safe references, diagnostics, and prepared cache data stay in the environment-specific Nexus profile unless a documented workflow sends data to an Aethera service.
• Access: Nexus shows only workflows already available to the signed-in account and does not bypass an Aethera service's access rules.

The download control remains disabled unless Aethera's same-origin release service reports a complete, verified production release. A missing or malformed response never becomes a download link.

Install and sign in

1. Download Nexus from this page after the verified production release is available.
2. Run the signed installer and choose an installation directory if you do not want the default.
3. Open Aethera Nexus from the desktop or Start Menu shortcut.
4. Choose Sign in. Nexus opens the Aethera sign-in flow in your system browser; complete authentication there, then allow the registered aethera-nexus: handoff to return.
5. Confirm that Home shows the expected account and only the applications that are currently available.

Nexus does not ask the local renderer to collect your password. Sign-in state requires Windows-backed encryption, and Nexus keeps staging, local verification, and production profiles separate.

Core workflows

• Home and tabs: open reviewed Aethera applications and keep a bounded set of routes together.
• Workspace and Shelf: choose a local campaign or world context and save reviewed references without copying source-app content into Nexus.
• Universal Search: search only the supported public or currently authorized adapters and open the fixed route reconstructed by the main process.
• Session Ready and Player Display: review the supported VTT preparation state, prepare the verified cache subset, and open a separate player-safe display when authorized.
• Transfer Center: monitor and resume supported Creator Studio MP4 uploads after selecting the exact matching source file again.
• Diagnostics: review a privacy-bounded local summary before exporting it for support.

Updates and recovery

Nexus checks only its fixed Aethera production feed. It verifies the expected product, profile, signed installer, monotonic version, and release metadata before an update becomes actionable. Update downloads and installation remain explicit; Nexus defers unsafe actions while Session Mode or known transfer work is active.

• Closing Nexus does not silently install an update unless you explicitly enabled the install-on-exit choice.
• A withdrawn feed protects clients that have not upgraded; an installed bad release needs a higher signed forward fix.
• Recovery Mode keeps remote views closed while diagnostics, cache repair, sign-out, and approved update actions remain available.
• Ordinary uninstall preserves the production profile. The separate clean-removal choice deletes only that profile.

Privacy and security

• Hosted application views are sandboxed without Node.js, raw Electron IPC, or a generic URL bar.
• Navigation, pop-outs, native actions, files, protocols, and cross-app operations use narrow main-process checks.
• Tokens, cookies, file paths, and raw private routes are not exposed to the local shell.
• Logout and account changes invalidate the prior account epoch and clear its session-owned capabilities.
• Marketplace content is not downloaded or executed locally by Nexus.

Accessibility

The local shell supports keyboard navigation, visible focus, reduced motion, forced colors, bounded UI scaling, semantic landmarks, and status announcements. Embedded applications retain their own accessibility behavior. Report a workflow that cannot be completed with your assistive technology through Support.

Current boundaries

Nexus is not a generic browser, arbitrary URL or command launcher, local Marketplace package executor, or complete offline copy of hosted Aethera applications. Voice embedding and media-device control, Quillweald project handoff, generic drag-and-drop between applications, macOS, Linux, Windows 10, and Windows on ARM are not part of the current supported release.

A control appears only when its reviewed adapter exists. The absence of an adapter does not grant a looser browser or filesystem fallback.
